[edit] History
[edit] Formation
In the years following the discovery of the J’T’P’Tan-Sevran Wormhole many beings from both galaxies found their way across galactic borders. At some point a man from Earth named Vincent Calrissian found his way into Corscan and during his time traveling amassed a huge amount of power both physically and politically. He eventually joined the Imperial Remnant, the last batch of military forces left over from the Galactic Empire under the rule of Emperor Palpatine. It was not long before Calrissian rose through the Imperial ranks to become the sole leader of the military, and nearly three years later the size of the fleet he commanded was large enough to compare to the New Republic's own defense fleet. He declared himself emperor and set out to retake Corscan from the New Republic.
[edit] The Routing of the Republic
When his fleet arrived in orbit of Coruscant the Republic was taken by total surprise. Within hours of the initial bombardment, the Republic's numbers were cut in half, and the planet was evacuated. The United Federation of Planets was notified of the conflict two days alter, and offered to give asylum to the remaining Republic forces in the Milky Way. Once the wormhole was blockaded, Calrissian claimed the galaxy as his own, and began to expand his military might even further. By the time the newly formed Universal Alliance declared war on the Empire, the total numbers under Calrissian's command was roughly seventeen times the size of the Galactic Empire's forces at the height of Palpatine's rule.
[edit] Imperial Expansion
Using the entire Corscan Galaxy as a stronghold, the Empire began a series of projects aimed at expanding their military might. The majority of these projects revolved around weapon designs and the further expansion of fleet power. The new government attempted to modify the former Empire's designs of various super weapons into newer, more efficient forms. The Death Star project was re-evaluated and put into production, as well as projects designed to harness the more mystical side of Corscan mythology, such as the Force.
[edit] The Humar Legacy
It is unknown whether Calrissian discovered the remains of the ancient Humar race or if he had knowledge prior to the discovery, but once Imperial scientists discovered the truth behind many of the ancient areas of the Corscan galaxy, Calrissian made it his mission to gain the power the extinct race had. As the Empire's study continued, he became obsessed with a prophecy that described a legendary warrior that would rise to gain ultimate power. Believing that it was his destiny to fulfill this prophecy, he set out to conquer the Milky Way, where the Humar also seemed to have had influence in the eons past.
[edit] War
The Empire made several attempts at invading the Milky Way, some of which were more successful than the others. Once they were able to break the blockade at the wormhole they maintained a significant presence in the galaxy, although the Universal Alliance was able to monitor and contain most of their advances. It was during the battle in the Deneb system that Humar ruins were found by Calrissian, and he acted on the knowledge he received. Using his allies in the Covenant he destroyed the system, hoping that the Alliance, as well as Jim George, a former acquaintance and rival of his, would never discover the truth behind the legend of the Humar. Once the Empire discovered the importance of the planet Earth, they made a massive push to take the entire Sol System, which lead to a massive campaign and heavy losses. It was during this campaign that Calrissian activated the Halo installations, using the knowledge he gained at Deneb. With the Halo orbiting Earth activated, he used a newer artificial wormhole to gain access to the galaxy of Triana, where his final prize resided.
[edit] The Final Conflict
In Triana the Empire was able to resurrect the ancient Gigas known as the Deathsaur, which was a Shivan species of robotic animal known as a Zoid. Using the Deathsaur as his own personal death machine, Calrissian tore across Triana back toward the Halo Wormhole, destroying anything in his path. Many civilizations were wiped out, planets rendered inhabitable, and many Alliance casualties were suffered. Throughout this final push back toward Earth, Calrissian seemed to not give much thought to his own forces, destroying any Imperial forces that may have gotten in the path of his new toy. It was this that caused the Covenant to defect and join the Alliance, as well as cause a significant portion of his own Empire to defect as well. These defectors followed another remnant of Palpatine's rule, named Fenris Gylan, and attempted to aid the Alliance in stopping the massive Deathsaur.
[edit] A Legend Fulfilled
Once reaching Earth, Calrissian's Empire was completely destroyed due to Alliance rallying and his own negligence. Once his Deathsaur was defeated by an Alliance controlled Gigas named Jungle Fire, Calrissian engaged in combat with George, who turned out to be the true fulfiller of the Humar Legend. Once Calrissian was defeated, the Empire no longer existed in any sizable form. Gylan's followers assumed control of the devastated Triana galaxy and became formal members of the Universal Alliance. With Corscan also in ruins, the New Republic once again took seat on Coruscant, and the rebuilding process began.
